CORONATION CELEBRATIONS
Ceremony On Tuesday, June 2nd. The oflicial Coronation Ceremony, to be held at 11 a.m. 011 Tuesday, June 2nd, will be in fi'ont of the Taupo Town Board Offices, and not in Tongariro Street as stated in'our last issue. Should the weather be such as to prevent the ceremony being held in the open, it will take place in Rickit's Hall. The Retumed Services Association hopes that as many ex-servicemen and women as possible, whether members of the R.S.A. or not, will parade. They will assemble at the Posfc Oflice at 10.45 a.m. and march to the Town Board Offices. Mufti will be worn, with medals. The Chairman of the Town Board has invited the following bodies to parade: St. John Ambulance Brigade. Cadets r.nd Nurshig ..Division; Boy Scouts; Girl Guides; Taupo Voluiiteer Fire Brigade; GiaTs Life Brigade. Coronation Btll A Coronation Ball is to be field in Rickit's Hall at 8 p.m. on Monday next, June 1st, under the auspices of the Taupo District War Memorial Hall Committee, which hopes that the function will typify the joyful spirit of Coronation week. Good music will be provided, and supper, and the proceecls will \go to the War Memorial Hall Fund. The Committee's decision to hold the Ball oii Monday night was based on their feeling' that the Coronation broadcast fydm the B.B.C. on Tuesday nig^ht would claim the attention of many people on that night.
