INSTITUTE'S APRIL MEETING
SEWING MACHINE DEMON STRATION The monthly meeting of the Taupo Women's Institute was held on April 15th with a large attendance of members, Mrs E. J. Arnold being in the chair. After routine business a very interesting demonstration of a Danina electric sewing machine was given by Mr Toomey, of Rotorua. The ease with which all types of embroideries, and more specially button-holing, button sewing and darning, were executed delighted all piesent. Competition Results Resuits of competitions were: Flour Bag Article, Mrs Stowe ; Garden in a Bowl, Mrs J. Taylor; Best Bloom, | Mrs Stowe; Cluster, Mrs Glass; | Vegetable, Mrs Stowe. On Friday, April 17th, a bus load of members attended the Annual Federation Meeting in Rotoioia. Mrs Stott and Miss McClymont were the delegates. 1 Mrs Glass was presented with a Good Serviee Badge.
