FRESEN T ATION TO MR B. J. BAUMBERG I A social evening organised by the Taupo Home and School Association took place at the school on Tuesday evening, April 21, when there was a Jarge gathering of parents, teachers and others interested in the Association's activities. During the evening enjoyable items were given by Mrs A, Kennedy, a song, Mrs J. R. Osborne, recitation, Messrs. J. C. Kellett and T. Curham, duet, and Misses JL Denize and M. Beale, duologue. Mr J. R. Osborne, headmaster, Taupo District High School, on behaif of the Taupo school committee, presented Mr B. J. Baumberg, retiring chairman of the committee, witb an electrje jug, and made special reference to his loyal service to the school and the ischool committee over a period of twelve years. Effert by Miss Rickit | Appreciative mention was also made of the very fine effort made by Miss Rickit, in collecting the sum of £50 x o ward the purchase of a projeetor for the school. It was stated that it was hoped to reach the required amount of £90 for this object in the near futiire. and that a subscription list was in Miss Rickit's charge at Gillies* Garage, where those willing to support the school could leave their donations. The evening closed with the dispensing of supper by the committee and helpers.
