Those interested in the Taupo C.A.B., will no doubt like to compare with their experience in Taupo the results attending the Taumarunui C.A.SJs last season. A report in the Taumarunui Press states that there was a loss of £4 2/9 on "The Merehant of Venice," a loss- of £3 5/9 on Captain Carvallo, and a loss of £3 16/- on the Beth' Dean Ballet. A local C.A.S. concert had made a profit of £14 12/6,, and "Beauty and the Beast77 showed a prcfit of £18. The membership in Taumarunui was i85, and the subscription had been raised to 10/-. jfc
Fly Casting Championship. —
Mr C. A. Voss, Ngongotaha, set up a New Zealand fly-casting contest record at the Rotorua Angle^ As~ sociation tournament held rece'^itly at Ohinemutu. His record cast was 119i feet. Mr Voss won the contest with an average- of 112 feet 2 inches for three best easts in five minutes. Mr A. White was second with 94 feet 4 inches, and Mr A. White third with 92 feet 4 inches.
White Frost s Agairt. —
The first frosts of any moment this year occurred last week. There was a white frost on Wetdnesday morning, when the thermometer at the State Hydro DepartmenFs station below the Dam recorded a minimum temperature of 30-degrees, two degrees of frost. The Thursday morning record was 29.3 degrees, being 2.7 degrees of frost. There was a light frost in many parts of the town area the next morning, Friday, but the station record was above freeging point 34.2 degrees. - #
