POPPY DAY APPEAL
SATURDAY, APRIL 18, The Taupo Returned Services Associations' annual Poppy Day Appeal will take place on Saturday next, 18th, when poppies will be sotd c-n the streets and in shops in Taupo. The poppies are made by members of the Disabled Servicemen's Association, to wrhom goes the sum of threepence for each poppy solcL The balance received is administered by the Taupo R.S.A. for the benefit of returned servicemen and dependents. Since the Second World War the Pbppy Fund has, of course, been used to assist men of hoth wars. The Executive was able to disburse from last year's Poppy Appeal receipts the sum of £41 15/- in appreciated assistance.
