LOCAL GUIDE ASSOCIATION

ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE A special general meeting of the Taupo Girl Guides Local Association was held in Rickit's Hall on Thursday, April 2nd,, at 7.30 p.m., when there were present Mesdames H. Feart, J. D. Swan, H. E. Shepherd, C. Snooks, Hough, B. Wilson, C. Thomas, W. Qgston, Harding, K. Reid, Misses J. Thompson, McDonnell, Messrs S. Kilford (in the Chair), A. Kennedy, C. Snooks, J. D. Swan, R. Goodgei;. Apologies for absence were received from Miss Rickit, Mrs Sherwood, Ivlrs Tatana, Mrs Ph'elps, Mrs Berggren, Mr J. R. Osborne, Mr C. Thomas. The meeting had been called for the purpose ot electing a new exechtive committee, following resignations received at the Quarterly General Meeting on March 24th. from Mrs Donnelly, Mrs C. Thomas, Mrs Redwood, Mrs Watson and Mr Osborne. The resignations were received of the Ghairmau, Mr S. Kilford, the Secretary, Mr A. Kennedy, and Miss Rickit, Committee member. The election of officers resulted in the nomination and election of the following: President, Gol. J. D. Swan; Ghairman, Mis. H. E. Shepherd; Secretary-' Treasurer, Mrs Phelps; Auditor, Mr J. Vv oodward. For the Committee five nominations were received as follows: — Miss E. Rickit, Mrs B. Wilson, Mrs Sherwood, Mrs Tatana, Mrs Hough. It was proposed by Mr Kennedy, seconded by Gol, Swan, and carried, That the five members nominated form the Committee. On the motion of Gol. Swan, seconded by Mr Kennedy, a resolution was passed suggesting to the incoming Committee the drawing up of a constitution for tbe Association. The meeting clo'sed with a hearty vote of thanks, prcposed by CoL Swan and seconded by Mrs Shepherd, to the retiring Ghairman, S ecr etatry- Tr ea surer , and Executive Committee members.
