ACACIA BAY ANGLING
SOME GOOD FEBRUARY FISHING Angling visitors to Acacia Bay in February took several limits and fish were for the rnost pari in good condition. Though fishing was good and anglers pleased with their catches the largest fish laken during the month were two of seven pound •each, so that the trophy awaitlng any guest at Acacia Cabias who can bette r ten pounds has not been lifted thia season. Several anglers one day trampedi with Mr Fowler (Acacia Gabins) overr the range to Whakaipo Bay, the track being good and the iime taken about two and a half hours. The party took turns with ihe one rod carried to land a fish caeh, and while fishing was gcod several declared that once overland to Whakaipo was enough. The following day Messrs J. Farley, N. Cotching and T. Cedarwell went by boat to the Mapara Stream, Whakaipo, and returned with seventeen good fish, the largest seven poiihds and the average just under five pounds. February guests at Acacia Cabins were: — Mr and Mrs J. Ewing, Raumat; Mr and Mrs E. F. Graham, Mr and Mrs N. Moriarty, Mr and Mrs Bruce Thompson, Auckland; Mr J, Farley, Mr and Mrs T. Calderwell, Wanganui; Mr and Mrs N. Cotching, Mr and Mrs H. Campbell, Mrs P. Campbell and party, Hastings; Mr and Mrs T. Aked, Napier.
