BOWLING FOR LADIES
NEW TAUPO CLUB Bowling for ladies has corne to Taupo. At an enthusiastic meeting held on Monday afternoon of last week at the Taupo Bowling Club's pavilion the Taupo Ladies Bowling Club was duly formed. Those present were Mesdames R. McMillan (in the chair), J. Stanley, V.S. Pearce, W. G. Morris, A. Calkin, H. Graclwell, W. Clayworth, F. Fletcher, H. Lough, E. H. Bowlands,, Miss M&nning. Apologies for absence were reeeived from a nunrber of ladies who intend joining the Club. Mrs R. McMillan was elected President, Mrs J. Stanley Secretary, and Mrs V. S. Pearce Treasurer. These officers are ex-officio members of the General Committee, to which the following ladies were elected: — Mesdames H. J. Peacocke, Clayworth,, Lough, Calkin, B. Armsitrcjng, W„ Anderson, Miss Manning. Two Vice-presidents were elected, Mrs C. McLean and Mrs E. Grey. For the remainder of the current season the subscription was fixed at 10/6. A cup for Ladies Champship Pairs has been presented by Mr H. J. Peacocke, and a set of but torts by Mr E. T. Smith. A match Committee was set up consisting of Mrs McMillan, Mrs Stanley and Mrs Peacocke. Tuesdays are to be practice days for ladies, when it is hoped as many members and intended members will turn up, while the green is available for play on other day®. as well.
