MAJESTIC THEATRE

Tonight?s star item at the Majestic is the detective thriller "The Fat Man,5? a quick action mystery with leadiiig roles taken by J. Scott Smart and Julie Landon. The programme on Friday next, March 6th., is a double f ea ture one. In "Brothers in the Saddle'' Tipi Holt is the cowboy whose efforts to reform his wild young brother come to naught. Virginia Cox supplies feminine interest in this hard-shooting drama of Arizona's early days. The second feature is "The Adventures of Don Coyote," with. Franees Rafrerty, the girl raneh owner who is being persecuted by an outlaw gang. Bichard Martin is seen as Don Coyote whose daring foils the gang and hrings a happy ending. On Saturday 7th. the big picture is the Universal-International melo drama in Technicolor, "Smuggler's Island." Eveljm Keyes plays the adventuress whose love is won by handsome Jeff Chandler in a thriller in which the sinful gold-smuggling port of Macao is brought to life. This tale of the mysterious Orient will be at Te Rangiita on Thursday, March 5th. On Monday 9th. the Majestic has a rip-roaring adventure drama in Teehniccslor, "Branded," in which, Alan Ladd portrays a trouble-loving gunfighter who drops his illegal activities when he falls in love with Mona Freeman, a rancher's beautiful daughter. The story tingles with excitement from opening pistol shot to final climax. For Wednesday 11th. "My Daughter Joy", a London Films picture, stars Edward G. Robinson, Peggy Cummins and Richard Greene. The film tells the story of a ruthless and brilliant businessman with a lust for power, engaged in a world-shak-ing venture which is threatened by the wiriting of a young journalist, whose lo^e finally wins the millionaire's daughter.
