WEDDING OF WIDE INTEREST

ORR — RYAN A Taupo wedding of wide intermt took place at St. Patrick's Cfnzrch on Tuesday, February 17th., the brid© being Acushla Winifred, *econd daughter of Mr and Mrs W, Beaumont Orr, Taupo, and the bridegroom Edmund John, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Ryan, Invercargill. The wedding was celebrated by the Rev. Father J. de Bree. For the ceremony the bride chose a very smart dusky pink gown featuring a tiny mandarin collar, fitting bodice, magyar sleeves and an accordion pleated skirt, worn with silver and pearl studded earrings and brooeh. A close fitting Kai. with tiny veil and flowers and oyster coloured gioves completed her ensemble. She carried a bouquet of ^mations, asters and hydrangeas in pastel shades of pink mauve and Mue. The brMe s sister Patricia -was tbridesmaid and wore an offwhite, heavy shantung frock with draped collar and brown accessories. The best man was Mr Garry $tewart. Pollowing the ceremony the reeep- j ticm was held at the home of the %ride's parents. The bride's mother feeeived her -guests wearing a charmmg frock of brown and white striped silk with wjiite accessories. The Rev. Father de Bree and the Rev. C. G. G. Bait acted as toastmasters. The happy couple are now on a motoring tour and wili take up residence in Taupo on their return. Visitors to Taupo for the occasion wero Miss P.
