EUROPEAN FLOOD DISASTER
MR HOLLAND WIRES TOWN BOARD CHAIRMAN Mr J. E. Story, Chairman, Taupo Town Board, ihas received the following telegram from the Prime Minister, Mr Holland: — "Would greatly appreciate your active support in the National Appeal for funds to assist sufferers in the disastrous fioods in the llnited Kingdom and !in Holland. I would be grateful if you would take prompt action to open a list and commend the appeal to the people in your district. I thank you in anticipation and look forward wdth eonfidence to the support of yourself and the people of your area to this most deserv1 ing appeaL', Immediateiy on receipt of this | message a subscription list was i established at the Town Board Office j and ppened with a donation from the Board. Mr Story wishes to draw j attention to this way in which citizens may express their sympathy, in common with people of other towns, with the afflicted people both in Britain and Holland. Donations at time of going to press were as helow.
