CORRESPONDENCE

It has occasionally happened that correspondence intended for the Editor of the Taupo Times, or the •Business Manager, has been delayed by being wrongly addressed to the individual by name instead of by his official designation. It is desirable and necessary, that letters intended for the Editor should be addressed "The Editor," etc., whether his name as an individual is Smith, Jones or Robinson. And the same rule applies to correspondence intended for the Manager, which should be addressed "The Manager," etc. The reason is that in the absence from duty from any cause of either the Editor or the Manager, whoever is acting as deputy, may open correctly addressed correspondence and take the necessary action. But the deputy could not lawfully open letters addressed to either by name. Hence rnatter intended for the paper may be delayed, causing possible inconvenience and annoyance. Will readers and clients please note therefore that all corresponddence for publication in the Times, and reports, articles, and other contributions, should be addressed fco "The Editor, Taupo, Times, Taupo." All other correspondence dealing with advertising, publishing, and other relevant business matters should be addressed to "The Manager, Taupo Times, Taupo."
