■ HOWOAY RUSH OF VISITORS The holiday season is wdth us and all acc ommodation at the Bridge an & Taylor's Lodges is fu'lly booked: All cottages are occupied and the Hut and Hatehery Camp.s have their full quota of anglers. The amounfc of traihc has 'been very heavy but fortunately there have been few aeci- - dents and those were of a minor nature, As far as fangling -is coneerned the river has been very d'isappointing, The number of fish caught has been snmll and of very poor condition i with the exception of the odd late running fish. Fishing at ihe Delta has varied fpom very good to very pobr, and, for the last few days, has been definitely bad. Trolling partie's on the lake have done fairly well and some excellent fish hiave been taken. Ideal summer weather prevailod over Christmas and New Year — a change from the wet conditions that were experienced during November and the early part of December — and there are literiaily hundredis of campers in the favourite eamp ing places round the lake front. Among visitors are Mr and Mrs F. Gyles, of Wellingtin; Mr and Mrs A. B. Cunningham, of Wellinigton; Mr H. Cramm Roberts, of Tauranga; - Mr J. McCartney, of Auckland; Mr and Mrs Horsley jand family, of Wanganui; Mr Owen Wamock and Mr and Mrs Dash, of Wanganui; Mr Neilson, of Rotorua; Mr L. Nafhan, of Auckland. Mr John Grace, son of Mr P. A. Grace, met with. a painful accident when the inotor cycle he was riding skidded in loose metal and threw him. He is at present in the TaumaiTinui Hospital. Dr R. C. Durward, son of Mr and Mrs J .D. Durward, Turangi, has been appointed house surgeon at New? Plymouth. Hospital and has taken up his poisition there.
