TAUPO POWER SCHEME
ALL concerned— -the Engineer (Mr L. Mandeno), his staff, and the chairman (Mr Story) and members of the Town Board, are to be eongratulated on the successfui cLsing of the dam at the Hinemalaia Stream, Hatepe, the f illing of the new lake, and the test run of ihe turbines. It has been a protected undertakng, this power scheme, and achievement has been worthily earned. At the moment of writing various finishing jobs have still ito be done, and officiaj inspection made, before the power can be switched on in the town, much depends on the weather, which, if unfavourable may delay the completion of the cable reticulation.
