MAORI LAND APPEAL COURT
DECISIONS DEHVEREp The Maori Land Appellate Court concluded the hearing of the various appeals relating to the Te 'Matai block, and has now delivered its decision as follows: — Appeal No. 1. — Mr P. Jones, acting for Werihe Te Tuiri and others, pleading for inclusion in the block, was dismissed. Appeal No. 2. — Mr H. Dowling, acting for Te Takinga Arthur Grace and others for the ejection (1), of Te Raroa Sullivan (Mr Morrissey), (2), of Wikitoria Ehan (Mr Kepa Ehan) who were both admitted into the title by the Lower Court when the investigation of the aibove block was heard at Hastings last year, was upheld, and therefore Te Raroa Sullivan and Wikitoria Ehan are ejeeted from the block. Appeal No. 3. — Rore Rutene, for inclusion in the block under the same rights as Wikitoria Ehan, dimissed. Appeal No. 4. — Tamahou Hunia, for inclusion in the block dismissed. The Te Matai block is about 8,000 odd acres situated along the Mohaka River to the South-West of Te Horoto on the Taupo-Napier Road, and. consist of heavy millable timber which will be , an asset to the timber industry in Hawkes Bay.
