PUBLIC OPINION
RE BOAT RAMP \ (To the Editor) Sir, — After pondering the somewhat lengthy correspondence in your columns re the above I have come to the conclusion that I must have been an utter cad. In the past I have thought dark thoughts re the fate of speed boats but after considering the better fishing, Dunkirk dnd all that, I can now only stand on the shore and gaze in awe — -and special admiration for those with enough enthusiasm to wait for a cairn day and have a practice run at 6 a.m.
After all it is great fun to have a ride in a train once in a while, but how much greater fun to live alongside the railw-ay line! In fact I think chaps «who drive speed boats must be supermen — measured by strained shoulder muscles and exhausted vocabularies used om a mere 31 horse power. And it beats me how they manage to travel so close to the shore line and dodge all the rocks and small boats dithering around the edge — and swimmers dozey enough to take an icy dip. Yes — they must be supermen. — I am, etc.,

TREMAINE.
