MAJESTIC THEATRE

NEW SOUND EQUIPMENT FOR PRESENTATION Comedy is the higihlight of the Columbia Pictures feature "Tell it to the Judge," to be screened at the the Majestic Theatre tonight (Wednesday). In the cast are the well known comedy stars Rosalind Russell and Robert Cummings. A double-feature programme to be screened on Friday presents William Powell and Julia Adams in a fine technicolour "The Treasure of lost Canyons," adopted from R. L. Stevenson's tale of high adventure. The companion feature is the R.K.O. production "Born to be Bad," starring Joan Fontane, Robert Ryan, and Zactary Scott in the principal roles. The high lights are the intrigues of a really bad girl, of whom it was said that trouble never came in a more desirable package. A Samuel Goldwyn production is scheduled as the big attraction for Saturday. -Starring Ann Blyth, Farley Granger, and Joan Evans, this presentation is described as - a daring theme, with charm, and heart-touching appeal, Patrons of the Majestic will be interested to learn that this evening's screening will mark the introduction of a new modern Westerr Electric wide range sound equipment. together with the latest type of motion picture projector. Noteworthy features of the new plant are an improved method of reducing mechanical flutter, efficient amplication, and improved converslon of electrical energy into accoustic energy. The duplex loud speaker which is a standard part of the installation is specially constructed to give excellent distributions of sound

throughout the auditorium. The technique of motion picture reproluction has advanced considerably ince the existing equipment of the heatre was installed in 1937, and inema goers will no doubt apprecate the enterprise shown by Mr Skeen in installing the new equipmet in time for the summer season in Taupo .
