TAUPO DRAMATIC SOCIETY
Preiiminary rehearsals for Blithe Spirit which is to be presented by the Taupo Dramatic Society for three performances next- montb have now been held and the cast for the play is rapidly taking shape. Although he only arrived here on Tuesday of last week Mr Ajrnold Goodwin, the producer has already seen nearly all the acting members of the society. This opportunity was afforded to him in the one Act plays "Furned Oak" and "Miss Marlow at play" which were read at a members evening last Wednesday and in two readings of Blithe Spirit by two diff erent casts at the same evening performance. These casts and others interested in being tried out for parts later attended a further rehearsal at which they were put through their paces by Mr Goodwin. Mr Goodwin considers that it is early yet to form an opinion about ihe ability of the players, but he considers that the standard of acting potentiality in Taupo is considerably higher than that of any other similar centre in New Zealand.
