FISHING SEASON OPENS (Own Correspondent) In spite of the inclement weather, scme good boat fishing was recorded at Hatepe, many gaining a daily limit, but no spectacular weigiht has been recorded since the opening of the season. Hospital), Ds: Dougla^ Mrs Dean, Miss Dean. Mr and Mrs Gibbons (Wanganui). Mr and Mrs J. Ladd, Mr Christensen and relatives; Dr Gunn, jnr., and Mr W. Irwin, Gisborne. Mr Wheeler (Solicitor), Mr and Mrs D. Allen, Auckland. Mr and Mrs Taylor, Mr Olliver and family, Hastings. Mr and Mrs G. B. Bradshaw and party, Wellington. Mr and Mrs G. Bridson and family, Te Aroha. Mr and Mrs Preston, Wanganui. Mr and Mrs Oozgt, Te Awamutu. Mr Tong of Levin, and party, have spent a satisfactory fishing trip at Y estern Bay. Although ;the i)ain makes heavy motoring, on the new work at Hatepe Hill, it will be beneficial in consolidating this area prior to the ! operation of tar-sealing. On Friaay last, a motoring party, had a lucky escape on the Hatepe Hill. ^ It evidently pulled out too far into the soft road, and was balanced precariously over the bank with a good drop below. However vtillin g hands gave help, and fchie incident had a happy ending. The parents of Mrs Wyatt arrived from England last week-end on the Rangitane. They intend to have a h o.l i day in New Zealand for a year _Mr and Mrs Morehu and family^ attend the Consecration Service of the Maori Chapel at Hukarere Colieges, Napier. Their infant daughter was christened, the same ay m the new Chapel and is named luku Tuku, Florence. The Service was an impressive one, and for tne relatives, a memorable occasion Mr and Mrs M. J. Krivan have leturned from Palmerston North, where Mr Krivan under went surgical treatment. He is making good progress.
