TAUPO DRAMATIC SOCIETY

A special general meeting of the recently formed Taupo Dramatic Society is to be held on Tuesday, November 25, when members will be given full opportunity to 'discuss the draft cbnstitution of the society. The draft is along £he lines of the proposals agreed to at the foundation of the society and it has been based on th« constitution of another stallar organisation. The dtraft has been thoroughly examined by the society's executive committee. Members are stepping up their activities in preparation for the Christmas holiday attractions which the society proposes to stage. At the time of going to press the producer, Mr Aamold Goodwin, was expected to arrive and attend a meeting of the committee. He will also, have a busy time tonight, when, at a members ? evening he will see the two selected casts of "Blithe Spirit" in action in portions of their parts, and other members oi the society will show their paces in two one-act plays, "Fumed Oak" by Noel Coward, and "Miss Marlow Play" by A. A. Milne. Although it has only been in existence a few weeks the society's membership has already reached 62. It is open to all interested in drama whether it be as actors or as spectators. - The prescribed membership fee of one guinea entitles members to one fr^e seat and two preferenfial bookings for each performance.
