HYDRO.ELECTRICITY AND A.C. BATHS The additional loan of £37,000 required in connection with the Taupo Town Board's hydro-electric power scheme has been secured by the Board. This is Yonsidered highly satisfactory in view of the difficulties enountered for some time past by local bodies in securing loans for capital expenditure, and will obviate any hold-up in the completion of the scheme. The Town Board has also been successful in securing its proportion of the finance for the proposed A.C. Baths, namely £5,000. The total cost is estimated at £6,000, of which £1,000 is to be provided by a Government grant. Tenders will be called for the work by the Ministry of Works, by whom the job will be supervised. The delay in connection with this project arose from the fact that the Department could not call for tenders until the Board had arranged its loan finance,
