In a crowded, industrial area the night air is likely to be fresher and healthier than it is in j daytime, when it is congested wiith smoke and dust. Don't however, overdo it by sitting or sleeping in a draught. Lemons, oranges and grjapefruit do not cause acidity. Citrus fruits are alkaline, so they cannot be said to increase the body's acidity. Fish is not a brain food. While j it is an easily-digested, valuable pro- j tein food that nourishes the whole bcdy, it has no particular effect upon the brain. There is no danger £n drinking water with meals provided that the water is not too ^cy-cold, and that you do not use the water just to wash down anchewed food Gallstones cannot be dissolved by medicine that is taken by mouth. Surgical removal is the only remedy for gall-stones. Broth and soup have very little food value — apart from any rice or barley they may contain. "Meat extracts" — often supposed to be strengthening — may stimulate the appetite but cannot be classed as food.
