Result Qf Finals The finals of the senior and junior championships were played on Saturday, Oetober 21.. In the morning the weather was fine but at mid-day a strong wind got up and rain set in. Despite the elements some very good golf was played. After the first 18 holes, Rameka was 2 up on E. Smith, and their match finished on the 33rd. green with Rameka 4 up with 3 to play. In the junior championship, Stephenson was 3 up on S. Neame after 18 holes and won the match, 6 up with 5 to play. Members had great pleasure in congratulating Miss Acushla Orr and Mr E. J. Ryan on their engagement, which vras announeed by the president Mr Cheal, in the clubhouse after the match was over on Oetober 14. Miss Orr has been a very popular and keen member of the club for many years, and Mr Ryan, who comes from Invercargill, has been a member for the last two years. He is also a member of the committee. On Thursday, Oetober 23 thq Australian golfing team arrived at Wairakei and several of the club officials called on them during the evening. Arrangements were made to show them some of the sights and on Friday morning they were motored to the Rapids, the Huka Falls, and then round to Jerusalem Bay. After the visitors were shown the river out* let they were taken to see Mr Stephenson^. garden, and then to the golf club. The visitors expr'essed great surprise to find such a well de~ veloped course and were most enthusiastic about the state of the turf on the greens and fairwTays. The team left Wairakei for Rotorua iii the afternoon.
