TAUPO BUSINESSMEN'S ASSOCIATION
The monthly meeting oi the Taupo Businessmens' Association was held in Rickits' Hall on Tuesday, October 4th. After the usual formalities delegates on various deputations gave their reports. Some of the matters that had been discussed with the Town Board and the Member of Parliament for the district were: — The Putaruru Road, Hydro-electric invasion of scenic assets, animal nuisance, and various other items. The matte'r re Credit Protection was extended further so that in the future a person wanting credit has to fill in a card. The association has to date had ' correspondence on mutual subjects with such bodies as the Price Tribunal, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Main Highways Board and Tokoroa Citizens and Ratepayers Association. The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is indeed very interested in our activities especially the protection of our Scenic assets, General discussion covered various aspects of the Working of the Community and the meeting closed at 10 p.m.
