ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE
On Monday, September 29th. the District Commissioner, Commander H. D. Cobb, O. St. J., inspected the Taupo Ambulance and Nursing Blvisions. He was accompanied by Mts Cobb, the Lady District Commissioner. After the inspection Commander Cobb gave a talk in which he dwelt on the work of St. John generally. At this date the Ambulance yehicle has been in Taupo's possession one year. It has travelled over ten tjiousand mdles in t'ha& fiimei. Taupo's need of invalid transport is justified when it is borne in mind that the ambulance has done eightyeight trips comprising 834 manhours. A trip fo Rotorua is undertaken on an average every four days. Recently a Home Nursing examinafion was held, when the following passed: IMrs D. Coley, Mrs J. How, Mrs B. Kennedy, Miss R. Anchor, Miss F. Shugar, Messrs Reid, Franklin and Kennedy. The following passed re-examina-tion in Home Nursing and First Aid:— Mrs A. G. Booth, Miss Ml Lowery, Miss Y. Hill. Cynthia Taylor passed' her prellminary Home Nursing exam. A preliminary First Aid examina•tion for the proposed Cadet Division is being held today (October 8th.). The successful cadets will tihen be entitled to wear uniform.
