HATEPE LETTER
A FACE-LIFTING OPERATION The Hatepe Hill, is having its face lifted. Motorists, are indebted to the engineers and work-men, and it is marvellous how work of this magnitude can be carried on with :o little inconvenience to the travelling public. Cars, trucks, buses, and logging trucks, sort themselves out, and traflic continues with a minimum of delay, due to the organised co-operation of the working team. /• Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Wyatt, and family are leasing Mr W, Irwins' cottage until their own home is erected. Mr F. Wyatt, is a well-known musician in England and New Zealand, and should be a valuable asset to musical circles in Taupo. « s. # Mrs Stewart of Paekakariki is the guest of Mr and Mrs Wyatt. * * * \ Miss Judith Kemball is spending her vacation from St. Mary's, Stratford, with her parents at Hatepe. * -r •* Mrs Gooding and family, Mr and Mrs Petersen, Mr and Mrs Reiger and sons, have returned to Palmerston North. * * Mr and Mrs Bridson, and family have gone back to Te Aroha. * * During the week Hatepe was under police patrol, due to reports that an escaped prisoner had been seen here-abouts. So far it is no more than a Knnour.
