Target for Memorial Hall Fund. The chief business was to set into action a house-to-house canvas for donations to Taupo War Memorial Hall Fund. A letter from the Taupo War Memorial Hall Association assured the Ratepayers' Association that they would be the only Association conducting a canvas. of the householders in Taupo -or the purpose of collecting subscriptions towards the Hall Fund. A plan, dividing Taupo into various zones, (drawn up by Mr Turton and Colonel Barton,) was presented to the meeting, and it was agreed that members of the Committee canvass the zones relegated to them. Although the Businessmeii *s Association has already ppproached the Main Hig'hways Board on this question, it was felt that if a bttle more weight were brought to bear it might lead to more speedy action. 3. — Therc is no Tourist Department Ageiwy in Taupo. The Association understands that a local interest aprroached the Department for an agency but was refused. An explanation is sought.
