MATCH AT TOKOROA A team of 12 men and 6 ladies "it off for Tokoroa on Sunday, September 7th., full of hopes of defeating the Tokoroa team in the Smith Shield match. When the Tokoroa team pkiyed at Taupo in IMarch Jast, Taupo gained 22 points to Tokoroa 's 8, but this lead proved insufficient and at the end of the day, Tokoroa had won the 'Shield by 5 points, this score being Tokoroa 34, Taupo 29. In the singles (Taupo players iiientibhed first): Graham beat W'hineray; Rameka lost to Boone; Smith lost to Cornes; Young* lost to Uden; Wilson lost to Bullot; Brown 'beat Gorman; Cheal ha-lved with Ward; Stephenson lost to Storer; Neame lost to Robinson; Collett beat Cunningham; Vedder lost to Chambers; Priee lost to Towler; Miss Branson beat Mrs Kirkman; Mrs Vedder lost to Mrs Boone; Mrs Hullten halved with Mrs Robinson; Miss Douglas lost to Mrs Rugg; , Mrs Colbeck beat Mrs Reid. In the fourball matches Graham and Rameka lost to Whineray „and Boone; Smith and Young lost to Cornes and Uden; Wilson 1 and Brown lost to Bullot and Gorman; Cheal and Stephenson lost to Ward and. Storer; Neame and Collett lost to Robinson and Cunningham; Vedder and Price lost to Chambers and Fowler; Miss Branson and Mrs Vedder lost to Mrs Kirkman and Mrs Boone; Mrs Hullten and Miss MacKelvie lost to Mrs Robinson and Mrs Smith; Mrs Douglas and Mrs Colbeck beat Mrs Rugg and Mrs Reid. The ladies played the fourth round of the Senior and Junior Stafeleford Bogey on Thursday, September 11th., when the best scores were Mrs Colbeck and Mrs Bush 37, Mrs Logan and Mrs Douglas 31, Miss McKelvie and Miss Hemming 29, Miss Orr and Miss Branson 29. On September 21, the President v. Captains teams match will be played. This is Mixed Fourball Match play, and teams will be picked at '1.30 p.m.
