MRS RIHI NORTHCROFT

A very old resident of Waitahanui, Mrs Rihi Northcroft, died last week, aged 78. The late Mrs Northcroft was a daughter of Chief Waakatuku, of the Tuwharetoa tribe of Taupo. Her mother was Rakera Eahia, a chieftainess of the Tuhourangi tribe of Rotorua. It is interesting to note that her elder sisters were the famous guides, Maggie and Bella, well known to tourists in the thermal districts of Rotorua, Whakarewarewa and rcund about.
