TAUPO GIRLS' MARCHING TEAM
At Rickitt's Hall on August 6th. a meeting was held to organise some marching teams for the girls in Taupo. The following officers were elected: — Chairman, Mrs Bonner. Secretary, Miss R. Anchor. Treasurer, Miss L. Manning. Instructors, Mr Turndy and Mr Currie. Trustees and Cbaperons, Mesdanies Bonner, Geoghan and O'Toole. Organiser for funds etc., Mr P. Silva. Social Committee: Mr Willis and the Misses George, Fulljames, Shugar, i Willis, Hural and Sutton. Mr and Mrs J. D. Swan were pres- 1 ent and Mr Swan gave a short talk on behalf of the Memorial Hall Committee. The Instructors hope to have at least two 01* three teams ready to give a demonstration during the Christmas Carnival and Sports. As the practices are at night it has been decided that they will be chaperoned. They will train at the Police Station. Donations to date total £9.
