Girl Guides Plant Trees

On Arbor Day the Taupo Girl Guides, 28 strong, marcbed from the Town Board Office to a given spot on the Lake front, when two silver birches were planted. Thanks were extended to Mrs Sally Keht for the donation of trees, and also to the Town Board for its courtesy and consideration to the Company, which has undertaken to plant two trees annually. Colonel J. D. Swan was amongr those present and addressed the girls on aspects of the observance.
