!STAFF SHORTAGE The secondary department of the Taupo District High School is now in full swing. Mr J. K. Bogue. iate of the Te Kuiti District High School, is senior secondary assistant on "the staff, and took over his new duties as from July 1. His assistant is Mr R. C. riavis who is transferriiig shortly to Maungatoroto. With other schools in New Zealand, the Taupo District High Schooi is feeling the shortage of qualifieci teachers. With the departure of Mr Davis, there will be vacaneies on the staff for one secondary assistant and two primary department assistants. These are being advertised^ 0 SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROSS SHIELD PLAYERS I The following' 23 players 'have been chosen by the selectors, Messrs Speneer, Crabbe and Ogston, to take part in a Training Week to be held in Taupo from 9th, to 16th. August.

From these 23 players "will be ehosen the 19 to represent the Taup® District at Waipukurau. b. Tatana (Mo), k. Walters (o). I. Rivers (Ma), H. Tahau (W), B. Rangi (Mo), H. Whetu (T), W. Wall (W), M. Hurae (T), b. Heke (Ma), A. Smallman (TT), T. Waraki (Mo), W. Wineera (T), M. Gordine (T), P. Northcroft (W), B. Wall (T), L. Pitiroi (T), D. Marshall (Mo), R. Clare (Ma), C. Crowther (T), W. Wikiriwhi (O), I. Kirikau (Ma), J, Eru (T.T.), M. Isaacs (T). The four extra players have beew chosen because four of the selected nlavers are right on the weight limit, and may exclude themselves by 23rd. August. If, however, they can keep their weight down, they will most probably he included in preference to lighter and younger playersBASKETBALL The following players have been selected by Mesdames Speneer aua Ciabbe and Miss Walters to take part m a Possibies v.
