Following the opening of a new steam bore at the Spa Hotel and with a heavy 16 degrees frost at night while the jet was playing, a remarkable spectacle presented itself to the beholders next morning. The condensed steam plus frost produced conditions resulting in the formation of icicles as big as stalactites, in general suggesting a scene in the polar latitudes. Top, the bore in action and (bottom), Sinclair and Yates well-drilling truck and equipment.
