"FORE!"

One morning last week a party of golfers on the Taupo links were electrified by the appearance of a wild pig on the course. The pig trotted slowly across the fairway of the first hole, on through the rough, and plodded across the seventh, in the path of a second party of golfers, and finally disappeared into the scrub verging on the new area of the links. There was evidence that the unexpected visitor had heen chased by dogs. Excited yelps could be heard in the distance, and it was said fhat- later players had encountered a dog that had been ripped. It is suggested that players in future should add rifles to the load on their trundlers.
