TAUPO POLICE COURT
At a sitting of the Justices Court jn Taupo last week, before iMessrs ,W. H. Kent and A. H. Reid, Geoffry Francis Evans Turner, cook, was charged with the theft at Wairakei on May 26 last, of one electric Jight shade valued at £2. He was further charged that on JMarch 12 last, at Wairakei he con(verted to his own use 2 single bedg and two tallboys, valued at £17. > As stated by Constable W. D, Mills, who prosecuted for the poliee, the accused had broken up the beds j and tallboys and made up the pieces ! into a cabinet. In each case the j stolen articles were the property of | the New Zealand Government Tourist Pepartment. 'v On the first charge, the accused was convicted and discharged. On the second he was convicted and sentenced to one months imprisanment. He had previously been in trouble. ■ m
