COMMITTEE BUSINESS The monthly meetlng of the Taupo R.S.A. Committee was held on May 13, 1£{52, there being present, Col. J. D. Swan (chairman), Messrs J. Watters, W. Mike, W. Morris, H. Rickard, G. Sutherland, W. L. Haines, P. W. Arnold, W. B. Stowe and G. Patchett (acting-secretary), Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs R. H. Ward, W. L. Fulljames and C. E. Baker. A letter from Rev. Mr Salt, regarding the Memorial Hall, was received, and after some discussion on the various points raised and other aspects of the same subject, it was decided to refer the letter to the Town Board for consideration. The balance sheet for the annual reunion, which was run at a small loss, was discussed, and it was decided to take steps to clear expenditure next year. "Send-offs" to soldiers leavingfoi the Korean war w^s brought up and it was decided that' the Town Board be requested to meet a depyitation on this matter. It was resolved that a letter oi thanks be sent to Mr 'Skeen for the use of the Majestic Theatre on Anzac Day. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the president, Col. J. D. Swan, for his excellent address on that occasion. A circular letter is to be sent to all rinfmancial 'members reminding them that subs are now due. It was resolved that functions should be held .^uring the year and that the hnancial side be gone into next meeting. As there has been no response, apart from the R^S.A. donations, to the Modena Boys? Town, and tjhe Lorc! Birdwood Memorial appeals, it was decided the appeals be closed and the amouhts forwarded to the Ii.Q.N.Z.R^S.A.
