ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
HOUSE TO HOUSE DRIVE The iSt. John Ambulance house-to-house drive will start on May 18 next and will continue for a fortnight. This is mainly for the 25/- annual family benefit which entitles the husband, wife and children up to the age of 16 years to have the ambulance free of any further charges should they require it during the year. The ambulance is run by drivers and attendants who give their services free, but at the same time there are always sundry items to be paid for. Recently the association had to purchase two new tyres and tubes at a considerable cost, but the committee feels that the ambulance must be in perfect order so that there is no hold-up when taking a patient through to hospital. In addition there are always small repairs to be done and of course these charges soon mount up. The commlittee would therefore commend to the householder this yearly benefit which will be of advantage both to the ambulance & the persons concerned. It is, in reality a form of insurance. However, should any one feel that they cannot join in this scheme the committee would be very glad to receive donations.
