WANDERING HORSES CAUSE DAMAGE
NUISANCE IN TAUPO Wandering horses in the streets of Taupo and adjacent areas are becoming a nuisaiace. Complaints are being received of the damage done to fences and gardens by these stray animals. These are not wild horses from the back country, but unfortunate half starved beasts owned — er disowned perhaps — by people who have neither the paddocking facilities nor the inclination or means to provide for them. There are too rnany of these wandering horses about. The place for them is the pound. Residents who have been troubled by them are insisting that action should be taken.
