A FAREWELL FUNCTION At a gathering in the Tihoi Social Hall ons Saturday, April 4, Mr and Mrs Lloyd Franklin and family were farewelled by the resid'ents of the Tihoi and Waikaka sawmills, and the local Hydro-Electric camp. On behalf of the residents Mr R. G. Beckett made a presentation of a chiming clock, a canteen of cutlery, and an electric iron, while the women presented Mrs Franklin with a boudoir set of gilded Belgian crystal, for services unhonoured or unsung over the years. Mr and Mrs Burgess ^ presented Mr Franklin with an electric kettle and toaster. In wishing Mr and Mrs Franklin well in their new venture, Mr Beckett spoke of the great loss the com- i munfcy felt at their going. Mr | and Mrs Franklin suitably replied, after which they were accorded mus- j ical honours. The evening was confcinued with dancing and a floor show by Mr$ Ritchie and Mr Chris.
