TAUPO WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

The Taupo Women's Institute held their annual meeting in Rickits Hall on Wednesday, March 19th., oflicers were elected as follow: — Mrs E. GJass, president. Mrs King and Mrs J. Taylor vicepresidents. Mrs Tierney, secretary and Mrs G. Taylor, treasurer. Committee: Mrs Coley, Fletcher, Wilson, Reid, Rickit and Miles. Visitors attending the meeting from Rotorua District Federation were: — Mrs Clayton, president; Mrs Figg, Treasurer;- Mrs Tyner, secretary and Mrs Morris. Mrs Clayton gave an appealing speech on visiting member from other Institutes in Hospitals. She was presented with a charming boquet of pink carnations and gypsophiia, from the gardening circle. Competitions for the past year were won by Mrs E. Glass (Flower Section); Mrs A. Wilson and Miss McClymont (Handcraft). In the Gardening Circle, Mrs J. Taylor won a prize for, the best crop of potatoes. The meeting was well attended by members and visitors.
