E. Golding, Inspector of Moari Schools, has been staying at the Tokaanu Hotel while visiting local schools. * * sfs Mrs Roti Smallman met with a serious accident on Tuesday afternoon, when the horse she was riding reared and fell back on her. She was picked up by a passing taxi and taken to Taumarunui Hospital.

— March 12. There has been exceptionally good fishing both in the river and the mcuth, and quite a number of limit bags have been taken and the fish averaged 5|lbs. * * * Mr J. Orton, of Marton, caught a large rainbow, 8|lbs. | * * * * Mr J. W. Perry, Sanson, took a limit bag on March 7, with an average of 61bs.

At the annual meeting of the Tauranga - Taupo School Committee the following offieers were elected: — Chairman, Mr E. iS. Jones; secretary, Mr W. A. Spragg; treasurer, Mr Spencer; members, Mrs George Flight, Messrs Donaldson, W. Hani, G. Warrena and C. London.
