Good Fields For Trentham On First Day

(By

Heroic)

Big fields are carded for the Wellington Racing Club's autumn meeting at Trentham on March 8th and 15th. The big race, the Autumn Handicap, includes the champion 3-year-old Dalray, and those opposed to him are a Wellington Cup winner, Reformed and Rev, who also won a race at the last Trentham meeting. Biassed is another who will be in the money, having won the Masterton Handicap last Saturday. Other previous winners include Royal Tan, Winslow Boy, Reigning King and others too numerous to mention. My selection is Dalray, Reigning King and Rev. The second leg of the double, the Railway Handicap, of 6 furlongs, has a field of 17, with Hands Off, top weight. Regoli, a winner 4 at Auckland, Rural Gold, Declare and that good hack, John Gilpin, should show up. My selection is: Hands Off, Regoli, Rural Gold. The following should run well in their races: 11.10 — Ngaio Hurdles: Tremello, Censor, Sly Robin. 11.55. — Plunket Nursery:. Gold Command, Takatu, Commodore. 12.40 — North Island Challenge Stakes: Archbishop, Golden Galleon, Red Jester. 1.30 — Autumn Handicap: Dalray, Reigning King, Rev. 2.20 — Tinakori Handicap: Golden Tan, Plausible, Prim Lady. 3.10. — Railway Handicap: Hands Off, Regoli, Rural Gold. 4.00 — Thompson Handicap: Field Chief, Jagada, Hutton. 4.50 — Siverstream Handicap: Lord Saracen, Paylock, Crowned.
