1\hen the adjourned inquest jnto the death of Henry Claude Lang was resumed at the Taupo Court before ,Mr J. D. Swan, Coroner, evidenee was given by Constable W. D. Mills, Mi F. J. Sheppard, civil . engineer, and Dr R. West. Constable Mills produced a plan ishowing- the locality on the hill road down to the Hatepe Hydro site wheie the truck driven by deceased went over the bank. This showed that after rounding the left hand turn near the top of the descent the truck had had its outer wheels close to the light hand outer edge of the road for some ninety feet, until the edge had given way, precipitating the truck into the gorge. Mr Sheppard's evidenee described how he and Mr R. H. Oliver and others had gone to the.scene from the Hydro Camp immediately after the truck was seen to leave the road. The medacal evidenee indicated that deceased's neck had been broken, and the Coroner returned a verdict of accidental death.
