A record number of people made use of the Tokaanu baths last month. * * * * The Tokaanu Fire Rrigade . wa$ ealled out recently to extinguish a fire at the house of Mr W. Tamaira, the local Fire Officer, but by the time the brigade arrived the fire had been adeauatly dealt with by a party of people returning from mineral baths m the Domain. The fire was caused by a lamp which was being lit slipping out of the hands of the occupier and setting alight some of the furniture.
