FISHING NOTES
—TAUPO, FEBRUARY .13 The weather at Hatepe has been poor in the last week, but quite a number of people have been arriving there for the fishing, which has been cuite good particularly the trolling. The best fishing from Motuopa has been obtained in the vicinity of Stump Bay and the Delta. Mr Fenton sonior and junior have been doing particularly well in this area. There are not very many people fishing in the Turangi waters, at present, but more are expected by the middle of the month. iMr Sam Darby, Conservator of • Forests, and his son-in-law, Mr W. J. Broughton, took limits at Whareroa on Monday, whereas fishing in the same area on the previous day was poor. Although there has been no appreciable run in the river several fine fish have been caught in the best pools. Mr Cusack McKenzie of Dunedin landed two beautiful freshrun fish, the heavier of which weighed 71 Ibs. Fish have been plentiful but poor at Tokaanu. Generally speaking, trolling parties have met with mo^t success.
