The price of books is rising and aecording to a leading English publisher the average price of a novel will be 15/- to 22/6, the librarian Mr A. L. Low, told the New Plymouth Library and Taranaki Museum Committee. Mr Low said that the average .price was now 12/6 and, surprisingly, these expensive , books were easier to sell than those costing 5/- to 7/6. He thought the price of books would continue to rise for some time. Mr Low also told the committee that book repairs make up the library's largest expense aecount.
