WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

The members of the Taupo Women/s Institute held their annual picnic last Thursday, travelling aeross to Mini Bay, on Mr Taylor's launch "Victory^ — as his guest. Although tpe morning was dull and overcast before long the day became clear and hot. Members spent the day swimmingi, fishing and singing to the accompaniment of Mr Taylor's Accordean. The party arrived back at Taupo about 6 p.m., after a most enjoyable day. The only fish of the day, a 2;ood 51b. trout, was caught by Mrs Godfrey Taylor. The first monthly meeting of the Institute for 1952 will be held on Wednesday, February 3. New members will always be weleome.
