VICE REGAL PARTY

VISIT TO WESTERN BAY - His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady Freyberg returned to Taupo after a week's holiday on the western side of the lake. His Excellency had thoroughly enjoyed his week of sport in beautiful weather and midst fine scenery. Altogether the party obtained 46 fish, the heaviest a 7|lb. Rainbow trout caught by the Governor General himself. Quite a number or fish retained weighed 4, 5 and 6 lbs. In conversation with our representative at the jetty Lord Freyberg expressed pleasure at the receipt of a copy of the first issue of the "Taupo Times" and stated that he intended to keep it. He wished the new venture every success.
