Rev. and Mrs • J. Smith have returned to Auckland after a short holiday in Taupo. Mr A. Fleming has sold his quarter acre section and dwelling, situated on the intersection of Tuwharetoa and Titiraupenga iStreets, to Mr K. Luke, of Wellington. Miss Diane Zander, of Wellington is spending a few days with her Uncle and Aunt, Mr and Mrs Arthur Jacobs, Heu Heu iStreet. Reports from Te Rangiita state that quite a few shooters have been out deerstalking in the district recently, especially at week-ends. For the most pari they have had varied success. The Rev. and Mrs Johnson are spending their annual vacation in Tauranga. Mrs Goldingham, of Palmerston North, is spending a few clays with her daugter, Mrs How, of Waipahihi. Mr and Mrs Maxwell Clarke, of Auckland, who have been spending a holiday at Taupo, with their family, returned to their horne on Saturday. They have purchased land on the Kent Estate, near Hilltop, and intend to build as soon as matei'ials are availabje. Mrs Smyrk, oi Taupo, is on a visit to Wellington, attending the New Zealand Gladiolus Society's Show, of special interest to her is the fact that the society has this year donated the P. R. Smyrk Remembrance Trophy (to be competed for in the large decoratlve class) to commemorate the work done by her husband, the late Mr Percy Smyrk, when secretary of the North Island Gladiolus Society, in building up the National Society. Mrs Smyrk is accompanied by Mrs K. Young and Mrs C. Vedder.
