Sealing of Tongariro Street.
After considerahle delays due to the unusual climate conditions experienced in Taupo over a recent period, progress is now being made with the paving of Taupo' s main thoroughfare, Tongariro Street. The present coating just laid down is known technically as priming, and must be given an interval of three weeks to set before the final sealing is laid down. This is a welcome improvemient, for Tongariro Street on a dusty day was not a very pleasant thoroughfare for shoppers.
